One of my other stories wasn’t really a “Dustin” story so I hope you like it. And please don’t plagiarize because this is mine. If you have ever seen the movie The Antwone Fisher Story you would know that this is where the poem comes from, but keep in mind that this story isn’t based on the movie, it’s based on the poem. Let’s begin.

Who Will Cry for the Little Boy?
By Antwone Q. Fisher
Who will cry for the little boy?
Lost and all alone.
Who will cry for the little boy?
Abandoned without his own?
Who will cry for the little boy?
He cried himself to sleep.
Who will cry for the little boy?
He never had for keeps.
Who will cry for the little boy?
He walked the burning sand.
Who will cry for the little boy?
The boy inside the man.
Who will cry for the little boy?
Who knows well hurt and pain.
Who will cry for the little boy?
He died again and again.
Who will cry for the little boy?
A good boy he tried to be.
Who will cry for the little boy?
Who cries inside of me?
Prologue:
Hey everybody. My name is Dustin Michael Breeding. I am 18 years old, and I live in Chicago, Illinois with my little brother Carnell. Carnell is 14 years old and one of the best things that’s ever happened to me. Carnell is my best friend, but there are a lot of things that Carnell doesn’t know about me. For example, the abuse I went through from my father the four years he wasn’t alive and even the years after that. My father considers me the “bastard child”. My mother died during Carnell’s birth. Our parents weren’t married until the year before Carnell was born, and my father never loved me. But Carnell has been loved all his life by my father and even by my mother from the time she knew she was pregnant with him and until she died. My abuse was hidden from mother. She was the only one who loved me for a long time, and I was only with her for 4 years. But you would probably understand better if I started from the beginning, my beginning.
Low-low’s (Author) Narration
Elizabeth Breeding was 18 years old when she had her son, Dustin Breeding. She is a college student and was living with her boyfriend; the father of the baby, when she found out she was pregnant. Elizabeth is now racing home after her doctor’s appointment.
Elizabeth’s P.O.V
I can’t believe I’m going to have a baby! Cameron is going to be so excited! I’ve wanted to have a baby ever since Cameron asked me to move in with him.
Elizabeth got home and parked her car in the garage. She went inside and found Cameron studying for a midterm exam at the kitchen table. She tried to control herself as she sat down across from him. He looked up and smiled.
Cameron: Hey baby how was the doctor?
Elizabeth: Fine.
Cameron noticed her huge smile which made his smile grow also.
Cameron: What is it?
Elizabeth: What is what?
She teased, but her smile was still growing so he knew she was excited about something. He chuckled and finally asked.
Cameron: Why are you smiling so hard?
Elizabeth: Cameron, I’m pregnant.
Cameron’s smile faded, but Elizabeth didn’t notice. She got up and started pacing excitedly across the room.
Cameron: Pregnant?
Elizabeth: Yes, isn’t it great! We’re going to have a baby! Cameron, a baby!
Cameron: Yes, a baby. That’s wonderful.
Elizabeth stopped and noticed that Cameron wasn’t as excited as she thought he’d be. She wrinkled her brow in confusion.
Elizabeth: Cameron, what’s wrong? Aren’t you excited?
Cameron: Elizabeth, I’m excited that we’re going to have a baby, but I’m not excited that the baby will be a…bastard.
Elizabeth: Don’t worry Cameron; we can get married before the baby’s born if that’s what you want.
Cameron: We can’t afford a wedding right now Elizabeth.
Elizabeth: My parents can help.
Cameron: No. I don’t want them to think that we can’t handle ourselves.
Elizabeth: They wouldn’t think that, they wouldn’t mind.
Cameron: No Elizabeth.
Cameron went back to his studying, and Elizabeth could tell that there was no arguing with him. Cameron didn’t want a child while he wasn’t married, but he had too much pride to let his future in-laws pay for a wedding. Elizabeth sighed and went upstairs to their bedroom. Cameron was very sensitive about his child not being a bastard. He had come from a home that taught him that babies should never be born out of wedlock. Elizabeth respected his upbringing, but she didn’t really care. She considered babies blessings even if they were born out of wedlock.
Elizabeth crossed the room and kneeled down next to the bed. She put her hands together, closed her eyes, and bowed her head. She took a deep breath and said a prayer that began every day and ended every night of her future son.
Elizabeth: Dear God, I thank you for blessing me with this baby. I pray that you would help him in any future struggles he comes across. I pray that he would become just as much as Your son as he is mine. Make him strong and a good man. Let him become a good man for his future wife. Keep him safe and bless him in every move he makes. I love him God, and I pray that he will always know that. I pray that no matter what happens he will always know that You love him. I know his father isn’t excited about bearing a child out of wedlock, but I don’t want him to grow up thinking that his father doesn’t love him. Help him to forgive anyone that is evil enough to lay a hand or word against him to hurt him. He is a blessing to me Jesus, and I love him with all my heart. Give me strength and patience to love him unconditionally and give him a good heart for You and every living thing. I know that he’ll be a good boy and try really hard to do his best. I thank you once again for this life. I love You Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.[/i]
